On July 11, 2015 Call to Action for a Healthy Kern (CTA) held a park clean-up at Heritage Park. Over 40 volunteers were present, including residents and groups of youth from probation and Sheriffs Activity League to help beautify Heritage Park. Activities like these are a great opportunity to build community and get some exercise!
A big thanks to CTA partners who participated in planning, and during the event, Supervisor Perez’s office, Kern County Waste Management, Kern County Parks and Recreation, Rebuilding Together Kern, Kern County Public Health Services Department, the Sheriff’s Activity League, Bridges Academy youth, and residents of the area.
This was the first clean-up at Heritage Park led by CTA, and based on the great response, there will be more to come. Together, we can make the park a more welcoming place for residents to use. As a friendly reminder, we will be having our next community meeting on August 5th at the Veterans Hall in East Bakersfield at 5:30 PM to discuss the Heritage Park Master Plan.
